Rising in one of the most forgotten places in the capital, in the San Lorenzo born to put the railway workers of the nearby airport, the former Cerere pasta factory is unanimously recognized as the place with the highest concentration of visual arts exponents in Southern Europe. Resigned production in 1960, the factory was repopulated in forty years spontaneously by the artists of the "Group of San Lorenzo" and in a "specialized" way, seeing today all its premises transformed into lofts and adapted to host the ateliers of painters and sculptors. It was the critic Achille Bonito Oliva, in the summer of 1984 who made the place famous with the exhibition "Ateliers" in which the artists and the people where they lived and worked opened the spaces: Nunzio, Bruno Ceccobelli, Gianni Dessì, Giuseppe Gallo, Piero Pizzi Cannella, Marco Tirelli.
