The building that since 1998? the seat of the State Library was built between 1840 and 1843 on a project by the architect Francesco Bruyn (Trieste, 1792-1859). The client, Giuseppe Brambilla, didn't live there never, renting it first and then selling it to Elio Morpurgo, whose heirs detained it until 1924. After being - between the two wars - the seat of the fascist militia and of the fascist union of industrial workers became, in 1983 , property of the Trade Union Confederations CGIL, CISL and UIL. Declared a building of particular interest in 1988 pursuant to Law 1089/39, it was acquired in 1991 by the Ministry of Cultural and Environmental Heritage, what do you think? later the complete restoration.
