The Villa is a historic home of the good Habsburg bourgeoisie built in 1880: it has a large Italian garden with tall trees, a wisteria pergola, a small swimming pool, a "dancing" area and the old well that originally gave water to the whole fraction of Opicina. The area where the fountain is located is overlooked by the wooden veranda that rests on columns forming the portico which is accessed through the large entrance hall. The Villa has witnessed the Central European and Italian vicissitudes of Trieste over the last two centuries. It was requisitioned by the Austrian and German military commands during the First and Second World Wars. Last year it was restored respecting its history and restored to its original beauty. There is a large entrance hall of 40 square meters with a beautiful stone staircase with ornamental cast iron railing. Currently a wing of the villa is used as a B&B and is inhabited by the owner family. For more information, the Villa website is www.villaalbori.it
