The refined frescoed halls and the immense centuries-old park lend themselves to hosting events and ceremonies for public bodies, companies and individuals. Built in the mid-18th century by the Marquises Gianbattista and Giuseppe, by the Counts Ottavio and Francesco Curtopassi, in the place where an ancient medieval tower of 1500 stood. In the early nineteenth century. the Bisceglie noblewoman Lucia Caprioli married the Count Alonso Alvarez De Toledo, related to the King of Spain and the Counts Curtopassi of Bisceglie, for part of mother, from which he inherited the majestic villa. In the winter of 1940/41, during the Italian / Greek conflict, the head of the Mussolini government moved for a few days to Bisceglie accompanied by the entire Headquarters, in order to closely monitor the operations on the Greek front. Il Duce lodged in the Villa Angelica, which stood almost halfway between the city and Villa Ciardi, on the left side for those looking towards Corato, while the General Quarter was placed in Villa Ciardi, one and the other on Via S. Andrew. This choice was dictated by the fact that the immense park of the villa had two natural caves with long tunnels that lead to Andria and Corato, therefore an easy escape for the Duce in case of need.
